Easton: Day 3 NICU

Day 3 in the NICU. I had a very rough night. I was in the most pain I had ever experienced in all my life!! I was doing great from the section and hysterectomy. Then something went terribly wrong. After some test they realized that my bladder had ruptured during the night!! Just so much stress during the delivery and previous pregnancy. So I got to go spend some time with you before I had another surgery.
The nurses were all so sweet. They lifted up the incubator so that I could kiss you. I had waited for this moment since the day I found out I was pregnant. No one can imagine how much it hurts when you want something so bad and you can't have it!! Something as simple as a touch of your baby!!

Easton: Day 2 NICU

Day 2 and I finally got to meet another love of my life on Valentines Day!! They had to inibate you. You were working too hard to try and breathe on your own. You were so strong but just needed to rest while the machines did all the work for you!! You had already been through so much in your short time of being with us!!
Daddy also got to touch you for the first time. Touching was off limits because it would make you stop breathing. You were so fragile but so strong at the same time!!

EASTON : DAY 1 NICU

We woke up during the night on Wednesday Feb 13 Mardi Gras night at 1:38am. I started bleeding and given my history of complete placenta previa and being on bedrest we went straight to EJ hospital. I was 32 weeks and 3 days. After an exam, the on call doctor decided on an emergency c-section.
We went straight to the operating room. When you were born at 4am I got to hear one loud cry and they carried you away to access you. Dad got to go with you and take a few pictures. He came back and showed me this beautiful little face that God had given us!! You were a little miracle !!
Afterwards I lost so much blood that they had to give me 4 bags of blood and do an emergency hysterectomy. That was the scariest feeling I had ever had. The hardest thing that I ever had to do was not being able to see you for over 24 hours. After you were born they sent you to NICU and I went to the ICU. That was the longest night of my life!! You were 5 lbs even and 18 1/2 in long. The doctors placed you on oxygen to help you breath. You tried really hard!
